Tetra Pak showcased its 3D virtual reality simulator at Gulfood to show guests how they can get up close and personal to their machinery without having to visit a factory.

Patricia Dascal, marketing and communications GME&A, Tetra Pak, said it can be quite costly to bring equipment onto a factory site to show to customers and it is limited by space as well.

We are trying to get closer to our customers with a novel way of showcasing our equipment and for those clients who do not know us, by showing our processing lines in dairy, beverage, prepared food, ice cream and cheese,” she said.

Exhibiting under the theme ‘A step into the Future’, the simulator allows companies like Tetra Pak to reduce training costs, accelerate employee learning and decrease expensive live training – by being Visual, Interactive and Portable.

Guests at the show were able to step into a virtual reality factory on their booth by putting on 3D goggles and a headset, which instructed them what to do with a handheld ‘virtual hand’ to interact with the screen.

Tetra Pak has operations in 49 countries across the Middle East. It demonstrated its services and capabilities under the theme ‘Future Ready’ and had a packaging demo area in a shop-like display.

Gulfood Manufacturing 2016 was held at Dubai World Trade Centre from November 7-9.
