Tillamook Farmstyle Cut Shredded Cheese
Oregon cooperative, Tillamook County Creamery Association, has reformulated its shredded cheese products.
Tillamook also debuted a new flavor: Tillamook Sharp White Farmstyle Cut Shredded Cheese.
Tillamook also re-designed its packaging for Farmstyle Cut Shredded Cheese.
Farmstyle Cut Shreds are available in 10 varieties: Sharp Yellow Cheddar, Cheddar Jack, Mexican 4 Cheese, Mexican 2 Cheese, Sharp White Cheddar, Medium Yellow Cheddar, Triple Cheddar, Italian Blend, Mozzarella and Colby Jack.
All varieties are available in 8 oz. packages ($3.99 SRP) and select varieties are available in 16 oz. ($5.99 SRP) and 32 oz. ($11.99 SRP).
Less sugar in the FRijj
Müller Milk & Ingredients has unveiled its reformulated and rebranded FRijj range in the UK.
The new recipe will be available in retailers (subject to availability) at the same MRRP from April, in all existing SKUs (Chocolate, Banana, Strawberry, Fudge Brownie, Cookie Dough and Choc Orange flavors), alongside new flavor, Choco-Hazelnut.
In addition, the existing range of ‘40% less sugar’ FRijj has been reformulated and rebranded to contain no added sugar. FRijj zero added sugar will be available in the following pre-existing flavors: Chocolate, Strawberry and Mango & Passionfruit.
To mark the launch, Müller Milk & Ingredients has introduced a new limited edition FRijj: Choco-Coconut flavor. This will be replaced in July with White Chocolate &Pistachio flavor.
Fry’s Artisan Dairy-Free Ice Cream
The UK’s Fry Family Food Company, has launched its ‘Artisan Dairy-Free Ice Cream’ range.
Originally developed in the Fry’s family kitchen, and produced in small, slowly-churned batches, the vegan-friendly ice creams are available in five flavors: Madagascan Vanilla Bean; Just Toasted Coconut; Tons Of Cookies; Salted Caramel; and Vanilla Bean Espresso.
Fry’s new ice cream range is made with coconut milk and is the only ice cream in the UK to be sweetened with agave.
Fry’s recommends customers leaving the coconut-based ice creams to defrost for around 15 minutes to reach optimum consistency.
RRP is £4.99 for 475ml at Ocado.
M&Ms ice cream debuts in France
Mars Chocolat France has launched the first M&Ms ice cream in France.
A subsidiary of the Mars-based agri-food group, Mars Chocolat France developed and produces the new product at its Steinbourg (Bas-Rhin) site.
The product is available in peanut and chocolate variants, in boxes of four.
The a2 Milk Company launches new chocolate milk
Australian dairy brand, a2 Milk has announced a new Chocolate 2% Reduced Fat Milk.
a2 Milk's Chocolate 2% Reduced Fat Milk (SRP: $3.99-$4.49/half gallon) adds to the company’s existing line, available in half gallon cartons at retailers throughout the US, including Whole Foods, Sprouts, Safeway, Kroger, Target, and now available starting in March at Publix.
Amul launches Memory Milk
For the approaching exam season, in India Amul has launched Memory Milk across the country. It’s a product the company says helps maintain performance, reduce anxiety and stress, and improves mental acuity in adults.
The ‘secret recipe’ is the addition of ayurvedic herbs: Brahmi, Shankhpushpi, Tulsi, Ashwagandha and others.
Available in 200ml bottles, and with a shelf life of 180 days, the products contains sterilized homogenized flavored toned milk and sugar with Ayurvedic extracts.
Amul memory Milk is available in Tropical Fruit and Kulfi Caramel variants.
Shaken Udder adds Strawberries & Clotted Cream variant
UK milkshake maker, Shaken Udder, is adding a variant to its range in more than 200 Waitrose stores: Strawberries & Clotted Cream.
Strawberries & Clotted Cream will be available in 330ml bottles, with an RRP of £1.49 ($1.84). It joins the existing range of Chocolush, Vanillalicious, Top Banana and Salted Caramel flavors; Uber Udder Cartons in Chocolush and Vanillalicious; and 220ml kids cartons in Chocolate and Strawberry.
Ben & Jerry’s launches Topped in the UK
Ben & Jerry’s has launched a new product in the UK - Ben & Jerry’s Topped.
The new Topped flavor comes with a spoonable topping, and is available in three variants, all of which are topped with soft spoonable chocolate.
Salted Caramel Brownie features brownies, chocolatey ‘ampersand’ shaped chunks, and salted caramel swirls, with a chocolate topping and chocolate chunks on top.
Chocolate Caramel Cookie Dough includes chocolate ice cream, caramel swirls, ‘ampersand’ shaped chocolatey chunks and cookie dough chunks, with a chocolate topping and chocolate chunks on top.
Strawberry Swirled combines vanilla ice cream, strawberry and marshmallow swirls, shortbread chunks, white chocolatey ‘ampersand’ shaped chunks and a white spoonable topping with white chocolatey chunks on top.
The Ben & Jerry’s Topped range has an RRP of £5.49.
Durian flavored yogurt launched
Vietnam’s TH Milk has launched a new yogurt from TH natural milk fermented with natural durian.
Durian is a tropical fruit, called the ‘King of fruits’ in parts of Asia, and is renowned for its nutritional and essential vitamins for the body.
The fruit can reach 30cm in diameter (12 inches) and it has a strong odor, the smell varying between different durian varieties.
The milk for the new yogurt comes from milk from the TH farm, which it says is certified as “the biggest hi-tech dairy cow farm in Asia.”
Shaken Udder launches 'YogOaty' high protein yogurt pouches for kids
Shaken Udder, is heading into the yogurt pouch sector in the UK with YogOaty, a high protein, no added sugar range of kids pouches made from yogurt, fruit and oats.
New YogOaty comes in three flavors: Mega Mango & Peach, Smashing Strawberry & Banana and Awesome Apricot & Vanilla.
YogOaty will come in single-serve 70g pouches, RRP 85p-£1.20.
Ornua launches Kerrygold cheese in Singapore
Ornua, the largest exporter of Irish dairy products has expanded its footprint in Southeast Asia with the launch of a range of Kerrygold cheese in Singapore.
Kerrygold butter and cheese is now available to buy in major Singapore retailers and e-commerce sites.
In late 2015, Ornua acquired Ambrosia Dairy, a Shanghai-based dairy manufacturer.
Ambrosia Dairy supplies dairy products including sour cream, yogurt and speciality cheeses to the retail and foodservice markets.
Quark in Australia
Rokeby Farms Whole Protein Swedish Style Quark Yoghurt, in four variants, has launched in Australia.
The yogurt is high in protein, contains live cultures, and is 1% fat.
The product, in 170g tubs, is available in coconut, natural, strawberry and vanilla variants, throughout Australia at Woolworths.
Philadelphia Cream Cheese gets snacking
Philadelphia Cheesecake Cups and Philadelphia Bagel Chips & Cream Cheese Dips debuted this month under the Philadelphia Cream Cheese brand.
The cheesecake cups are ready-to-eat snack bite that comes in four flavors: cheesecake with strawberries; cheesecake with milk chocolate sauce; cheesecake with cherries, and cheesecake with salted caramel sauce.
The snack cups are available at major grocery retailers nationwide in the US for a suggested retail price of $2.99 for a two-pack.
Philadelphia Bagel Chips & Cream Cheese Dips includes multigrain bagel chips paired with four sweet and savory cream cheese flavors: strawberry, garden vegetable, chive & onion, and brown sugar & cinnamon. Each 2.5-ounce package of bagel chips and flavored cream cheese retails for $1.99.
Dreaming Cow taps in to drinkable yogurt space
Dreaming Cow Creamery has launched LUSH, a line of full-fat yogurt drinks made with 100% pasture raised whole milk yogurt and a combination of fruits and vegetables.
Continuing with its flavor offering, LUSH is available in four different SKUs, each with a full serving of vegetables and 20bn colony forming units of probiotic Bifidobacterium-12: strawberry, raspberry, purple carrot & beet; blueberry, boysenberry, purple carrot & beet; peach, ginger, pumpkin & carrot; lemon, passionfruit, carrot & pumpkin.
Ciao Bella scales up pint size for same retail price
Ciao Bella, maker of gelato and sorbetto, announced a packaging overhaul aiming to evolve the brand to be more “approachable and transparent.”
The new packaging depicts recognizable ingredients that tie to the frozen treats' natural colors.
Along with the new logo, Ciao Bella is replacing its current 14-ounce jar with a larger, cylindrical shaped 16-ounce container without raising prices.
"The premium segment within the specialty frozen dessert category has witnessed tremendous growth in the last several years, particularly in the pint segment," Carlos Canals, CEO of Ciao Bella, said.
The new 16-ounce pints will start to hit retail shelves nationwide this month and will maintain a $4.99 SRP.
Daiya unveils full line of plant-based dairy alternatives
Daiya, maker of plant-based foods in the US, has added several new dairy-free products to its portfolio.
The new products are: Daiya Slices (SRP $4.99), shreds – cutting board collection (SRP $4.99), deluxe cheeze sauce (SRP $5.99), plain and vanilla Greek yogurt alternative (SRP $1.99), pumpkin spice cheesecake (SRP $8.99), and garden vegetable cream cheeze style spread (SRP $4.99).
Stonyfield expands whole milk line with drinkable and double cream yogurt
US organic yogurt maker, Stonyfield, introduced its whole milk drinkables and double cream yogurt this month, which both retail for $4.99.
Whole milk drinkables contain 6 grams of protein per serving and are intended to be an on-the-go snack available in strawberry and peach flavors.
Double cream yogurt product is available in plain and is suitable for recipe creation, the company said.
GO VEGGIE launches vegan grated parmesan
Also in the US, GO VEGGIE has launched a vegan, soy-free grated parmesan made with coconut.
"We have two other successful parmesan SKUs, but wanted to offer a dairy AND soy-free option for those with allergies, or just striving to eliminate soy from their diet,” Allison Houle, marketing manager at GO VEGGIE, said.
Available in conventional and natural grocery stores nationwide, the 4-ounce shaker retails for $4.99.
Isaly’s ice cream comes back to stores
Isaly’s Ice Cream is coming back to store shelves in a variety of flavors.
The new variants include: vanilla, vanilla and cherry, mint chocolate chip, and chocolate chip cookie dough.
The ice cream is available in limited selections at Giant Eagle stores located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, and Maryland.
Califia Farms goes organic
Califia Farms unveil organic homestyle nutmilks, a line of USDA Certified Organic almond, cashew and coconut nutmilks, at Natural Products Expo West this month.
Packaged in curvy 750ml bottles, Califia’s organic homestyle nutmilks contain four ingredients: nuts, water, oat fiber and a dash of sea salt.
In addition, the company announced a range of functional enhancements and flavors to its almondmilk line, including the superfood maca root powder, as well as protein, oats, coconut and three new almondmilk creamer flavors (dulce de leche, Irish cream, and Mexican cocoa).
Sargento blurs dairy and sweets
Sargento Foods released Sweet Balanced Breaks Snacks, which combines the savory flavors of cheese with sweet ingredients like dried fruits and dark chocolate.
The four Sweet Balanced Breaks Snack varieties feature 5 to 7 grams of protein and fewer than 200 calories per serving.
The four new flavor combinations are: cheddar cheese, raisins, sea-salted roasted almonds, and Greek yogurt-flavored drops; Monterey jack cheese, dried cranberries, banana chips, and dark chocolate chunks; cheddar cheese, raspberry-flavored dried cranberries, graham crackers and milk chocolate chunks; and Monterey jack cheese, dried cranberries, and dark chocolate-coated peanuts.
The new snack products can be found in retailers nationwide in packages of three 1.5-ounce snacks for a suggested retail price of $3.69.
