Häagen-Dazs adds new ice cream bars

Häagen-Dazs has unveiled two ice cream bar flavors -  Dulce De Leche and Chocolate Cookie Crumble. Dulce De Leche is a familiar flavor from the ice cream maker’s range, but this is the first time when it’s been offered in a bar format. It combines dulce de leche ice cream with swirls of dulce de leche sauce coated in milk chocolate. Chocolate Cookie Crumble, on the other hand, is brand-new. The bar is made of vanilla-infused sweet cream ice cream and fudge swirls, dipped in milk chocolate with chocolate cookie pieces.

Häagen-Dazs has also added to its Mini portfolio with a miniaturized version of the brand's second most popular bars with the Vanilla Milk Chocolate Mini bars.

These bars are now available at select locations for $6.99 for 6-count minis and $5.99 for 3-count full-sized, with nationwide availability expected in April.

Tillamook launches Brick Cream Cheese
Tillamook launches Brick Cream Cheese

Farmer-owned co-op Tillamook has released an ‘extra creamy’ cream cheese block ideal for baking or cooking. To achieve the desired level of creaminess, the co-op has added more milkfat by weight (derived from cream) than typically required for this type of product.

“Tillamook consumers have been asking for a brick cream cheese for a long time,” said Stephanie Carson, senior director of category growth at the Tillamook County Creamery Association. “Historically, there hasn't been much variety and the shelf was ripe for a premium, extra creamy, Brick Cream Cheese.”

Tillamook Brick Cream Cheese is made without preservatives or gums and joins a portfolio of cream cheese spreads that the co-op says is one of the fastest-growing in the country. The claim is based on IRI POS data of percentage sales increases for soft cream cheese brands with sales of more than $10,000 in the 52 weeks ending February 26, 2023.

Organic Valley expands portfolio with new Family First Milk Line

America's largest organic farmer-owned dairy cooperative has released a range of its Family First milk that’s been fortified with DHA Omega 3, an ingredient thought to support brain health.

The co-op says that according to a 2019 study published by the National Institute of Health, Americans in all age groups did not meet the recommended daily intake of Omega 3s to meet nutritional needs based on US Dietary Guidelines. Organic Valley’s DHA-Omega 3 fortified line offers 50mg of the nutrient per serving and aims to appeal to health-conscious families that seek out milk that meets the varying nutritional needs of their families.

The milk is suitable for all age groups and can be incorporated into cooking and baking, just like non-fortified options on the market.

Family First milk will begin appearing on retailer shelves nationwide beginning this month, available in Whole and Reduced Fat 2%, 64-ounce (half gallon) cartons for a suggested retail price of $5.99-$6.99.
