Unilever switches Carte D’Or ice cream to paper tubs

Unilever has switched its range of Carte D’Or ice cream in the UK from plastic packs to responsibly sourced, recyclable paper tubs and lids in a move that will save more than 900 tons of virgin plastic each year.

Silk Nextmilk, from Danone North America, is now available in the US.

Magnum launches tubs made with recycled plastic

UK ice cream brand Magnum has launched its ice cream tubs range in the UK using packaging made with recycled plastic. Following a successful pilot last year, Magnum is the first ice cream brand to use recycled polypropylene plastic in packaging.

The Recover Better campaign is being convened by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) with the UN Global Compact and the We Mean Business coalition.

The latest Brand Finance Food & Drink 2019 report shows that, again, Switzerland’s Nestlé tops the food ranking, although its brand value increased by just 1% year on year to $19.6bn.
