The International Dairy Federation (IDF) has elected Fonterra research director Dr Jeremy Hill as its new president.

Hill, who is Director of Research, Science, Technology, and Development at Fonterra, will lead the IDF from 9 November 2012 – replacing Richard Doyle, who has completed his four year term.

He was elected to the position at the IDF General Assembly at the World Dairy Summit in Cape Town, South Africa earlier this week.

New Zealand-based dairy processor and exporter Fonterra has welcomed the appointment.

“This reflects New Zealand’s leadership on the international dairy stage and Jeremy’s contribution to the industry,” said Fonterra Nutrition managing director Sarah Kennedy.
