Mayfield Dairy Farms, the US dairy and ice cream producer, is about to introduce its new Clik-Top re-sealable carton for its rectangular ice cream package.

The Clik-Top features a convenient break seal and special locking tab that keeps the carton closed and the ice cream fresh. A double-wall construction prevents the carton from tearing. Mayfield Classic Ice Cream, Mayfield Lowfat No Sugar Added Ice Cream and Mayfield Lowfat Frozen Yogurt lines will be available in the Clik-Top carton.

"People in our focus groups preferred this new Clik-Top package 29:1 over the old zipper-style package," said Scottie Mayfield, President of Mayfield. "It's just a carton that's easier to open and re-seal."While Mayfield is making some changes, the ice cream guru is also bringing a whole new look to its Clik-Top carton which features bolder, easier-to-read graphics on the familiar Mayfield-yellow background. Colour-coded bands at the bottom of the carton help identify the three lines available in the Clik-Top package.

Mayfield was the first dairy in 1988 to introduce an opaque, plastic milk jug that kept milk fresher by preventing damage caused by UV light. Earlier this year, Mayfield was the first dairy to use Millennium Board, a special packaging board designed to improve insulation and reduce crushing and damage, for its ice cream novelties such as Brown Cows, Fudge Bars and Ice Cream Sandwiches.

Mayfield Dairy Farms offers a full line of dairy and ice cream products. Based in Athens, Tenn., the dairy serves eight Southeastern states. Mayfield is the leading brand of Ice Cream and Milk in Atlanta and East Tennessee.
