International Specialty Products (ISP) continues to consolidate its position on the ingredients market with the news this week that it has acquired Brazilian ingredient systems company Germinal.
Founded ten years ago to supply the dairy and meat industry in southern Latin America, Germinal has a manufacturing facility at its headquarters in Cabreuva, Brazil.

ISP specialises in alginate products obtained from brown seaweed including alginate salts, alginic acid, and propylene glycol alginate. The ISP alginates business is supported by two manufacturing facilities in Girvan, Scotland and San Diego, California.
Following the purchase of remaining stock by its chairman and majority stockholder Samuel J. Heyman, ISP was privatised in March this year.
