BakeMark International, an international provider of bakery ingredients and supplies, is boosting its capabilities in fats for the Eastern European market. CSM, BakeMark International's parent company, has acquired the sales activities of Unilever's Hungarian bakery ingredients business and will roll them into BakeMark Magyarország, its Hungarian operating company.
The move will dramatically expand BakeMark International's product range throughout the region.
With a turnover of €13 million, Unilever Magyarország is the largest supplier of bakery fats to the Hungarian market. Customers, including wholesalers and industrial and artisan bakers, are offered a range of bakery fats primarily under the Meister brand name.
The addition of these products to BakeMark International's portfolio boosts the considerable expertise held at current production units in Germany, Belgium and Italy. In addition, it will allow BakeMark International to consolidate its position in breads and improve its offer to pastry bakers in Hungary and neighbouring countries.
"This is an exciting development for the Eastern European bakery market," saidCsaba Bölcskei of BakeMark Magyarország.
BakeMark Magyarország intends to roll out an extensive range of fats for both bread and pastry applications throughout the region. A key benefit to customers will be the additional expertise of the twelve Unilever employees who will transfer to the Hungarian company.
BakeMark International represents the international sales and marketing interests of CSM Bakery Supplies Europe and CSM Bakery Supplies North America in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
