The newly monikered company will focus its business around five key brands. Arkady supplies powdered bread ingredients and fat-based bread ingredients, while Craigmillar is the name used for the company's range of bakery fats, confectionery ingredients, frozen pastry slabs and sheets. Bon Vivant is the umbrella brand for a range of part-baked breads, buffet snacks and hand-held/light snacks.
The two other brands reflect the most recent acquisitions by the BakeMark business. CSM's takeover of US-based Carpro in March last year added the Caravan Brill brand of confectionery ingredients, bread ingredients and frozen cookies to the UK subsidiary's portfolio, while the purchase of the UK's leading cookie manufacturer, Readi-Bake, in August added doughnuts, cookies, cake batters, sheet cakes and The Simpson's range of licensed products.
"The past year has been an extremely exciting time for us and the transition to BakeMark UK is the positive culmination of these developments," said Steve Moon, the UK group's managing director. "The integration of Readi-Bake and Caravan Brill into the business have taken place alongside a strategic review of our operations, resulting in a business much closer to its customers - and the consumer.
"The company name has changed, but our beliefs have not - it's very much business as usual. We pride ourselves on our unrivalled innovation and will continue to offer customers the consumer research and category management expertise synonymous with our reputation to the craft, industrial, in-store and foodservice bakery sectors."
BakeMark is the name used by CSM for all its bakery companies operating across Europe, North America and beyond.
