Ilapak displays speedy sweet wrapping technology

The Vegatronic 4000 is designed for a range of vertically wrapped products such as confectionery or bakery items.
Rather than using the standard closed frame design common in the industry, Ilapak has chosen an open frame model - making it more accessible and easier to maintain as well as clean.
Ilapack product manager Adriano Favaro told confectionerynews.com: "One of the most important things in the industry is hygiene so that is the main focus of the machine - it's a very clean design."
"It is easy to reach the inner parts, easy to clean and can be washed down," they added.
According to Ilapak, the Vegatronic can process up to 140 bags per minute, depending on the size and shape of the packaging.
Among the styles rendered by the wrapper are pillow bagging, block packs, with or without clips, and quattro models.
Heat sealable materials such as polypropylene, barrier films and laminates can be used.
The machine was launched worldwide recently and was demonstrated to manufacturers at the annual Paris Emballage.
