At present the company conducts R&D activities at three different locations in the country; in Deventer, Tilburg, and Wageningen.
In an effort to develop and share know-how more rapidly and effectively, FrieslandCampina intends to combine these operations. The move will affect around 250 members of staff who are currently employed at the three sites working on research and product development.
Under the plans, the R&D workers will be relocated to a new location in Wageningen. FrieslandCampina said this is an ideal option because it is located in the Food Valley – a hub of knowledge institutes and companies active in R&D in the field of nutrition.
The Central Works Council of FrieslandCampina in the Netherlands will shortly be asked to issue its advice on the proposed decision. The different options for the future R&D location in Wageningen will be elaborated on in time. It is anticipated that a final decision will be taken in mid-2010.
