“Customers with the TBA/19 filling machine for 200 Slim, 250 Base and 125 Slim [cartons] will soon be able to retrofit their existing filling lines, enabling them to produce the new Tetra Brik Aseptic 200 and 250 Edge [pictured]” Tetra Pak said in a statement.
“For those with this machine who are not yet ready to invest in the Tetra Pak A3/Compact Flex filling machine, this solution gives them the option of producing these packages for a fraction of the cost.”
The company added: “The retrofitability kit takes less time to install than a new machine, which means products get to market faster.”
Unveiling the kit at Gulfood in Dubai this week (February 25-28) Tetra Pak also announced the launch of a one-step opening (left) for its Tetra Avero Aseptic carton bottle for ambient white milk.
Double safety features include a tamper-evidence ring and a neck membrane that is removed when consumers twist cap.
In addition, Tetra Pak says its A3/Speed filling machine – 24000 portion packs per hour – can now be used with Tetra Prisma Aseptic 200 and 250 portion packs.
