The Piston Doser PX was designed for the filling of PET bottles with fruit pieces, nuts and cereals with dimensions up to 10mm x 10mm x 10mm.

GEA Procomac sales director, Flavio Salvadori, described beverage products containing these solids as a "big trend" in South East Asia. The company expects this to spread to the US and Europe in due course.

"It's conceived for a new generation of beverages that we see as a trend in the market," said Salvadori.

"It's suitable for the beverage industry. That means that these pieces can bee added to beverage bases like juices, tea, and also it is very good for the dairy industry. Ideally, it is good for dosing pieces in yogurt or for pieces in milk," he added.
