Swedish Rheumatism Association approves five more Tetra Pak cartons

The Swedish Rheumatism Association (SRA) has approved five more Tetra Pak packages for ease of opening, close and use by the elderly and rheumatism sufferers with reduced hand strength.

10 Tetra Pak packages have been approved by the SRA since 2007, and the company said that product functionality and consumer experience were key drivers in its development activities.

Charles Brand, VP of marketing and product management at Tetra Pak described the SRA as an "important partner" that had supported Tetra Pak in developing and testing products since 2004.”

Openings and closures to enhance functionality include Tetra Pak's HeliCap (a one-step screw cap) and DreamCap, an ergonomic closure designed for on-the-go consumption, while the company says it has also improved package shapes.

For instance, the recent Tetra Brik Aseptic Edge range has an angled top for added finger space, making it easier to grip the cap.

The five newly SRA-certified packages are as follows: Tetra Gemina Aseptic Square 1000 HeliCap 27, Tetra Prisma Aseptic 750 Square HeliCap 27 (2013), Tetra Brik Aseptic Edge 250 Helicap 23 (2013), Tetra Gemina Aseptic Square 750 HeliCap 27 (2013), Tetra Gemina Aseptic Square 500 HeliCap 27.
