Daisy cottage cheese package spotlights simplicity

Daisy has launched redesigned cottage cheese packaging that draws attention to the dairy dish’s short list of natural, quality ingredients.

Marjie Laurent, senior brand manager, Daisy Cottage Cheese, said the refreshed containers and list of ingredients with only four items give the product stand-out status.

"The call-out of better ingredients, coupled with the addition of different colored lids, allows our product to stand out in the dairy aisle,” she said. "The packaging we are introducing reinforces what we call The Daisy Difference.”

Color coding

The updated packaging includes contemporary design elements, and colored lids that indicate the variety of product. Light-blue lids indicate low-fat cottage cheese; dark blue lids top the regular variety.

Laurent said while other cottage cheese brands contain up to 10 ingredients, the Daisy product pares that down significantly to just four. The cottage cheese’s low-fat variety has 90 calories and 13g protein per serving.

While cottage cheese has not enjoyed the sales explosion currently seen in the Greek yogurt center, its perception as a high-protein, calorie-conscious snack has helped demand in recent years. The California Milk Advisory Board reports production of cottage cheese has risen an average of 6% annually in recent years.
