Nestlé USA recalls 10,000 packages of ice cream

Nestlé USA is recalling 10,000 packages of Häagen-Dazs ice cream due to mismatched packaging which does not identify peanuts.

Affected products are 14-ounce cartons labeled as Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Chocolate Chip Ice Cream with a UPC of 74570-08400, and lid labeled as Häagen-Dazs Chocolate Peanut Butter.

Mismatched packages contain Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream, and the ingredient statement on the carton applies to Chocolate Chocolate Chip Ice Cream.

The best buy date and manufacturing code appear on the bottom of the carton:  Best By date of 13May2015, manufacturing code of 24-52 4133580418D.

Ice cream was produced on May 13, and has been distributed in District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

A consumer reported the mismatched packaging and the firm is investigating with the US Food and Drug Administration during the product recall.
