From March 17, Arla Foods will offer registered GDT bidders butter milk powder (BMP) from Sweden, and medium-heat skimmed milk powder (SMP) from Germany and Sweden.
“Arla Foods is pleased to announce that, along with their current EU-origin products, they will offer a wider range of country-specific SMP and BMP products to buyers," said a statement issued by GDT.
Those bidders “who are indifferent to the product origin…will still be able to bid on SMP and BMP with EU origin,” the statement added.
Arla Foods, which is owned by 13,500 dairy farmers across Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands, currently sells European Union (EU) origin and country-specific origin BMP and SMP on the Fonterra-owned GDT platform.
It began selling medium-heat SMP from Denmark and the UK and low-heat SMP from Sweden and Germany on GDT in April 2014.
Arla Foods Ingredients announced in January 2015 it would join its parent company, Arla Foods, on GDT.
It is scheduled to begin offering lactose on GDT from April 15.
Amul, Arla Foods, Arla Foods Ingredients, DairyAmerica, Euroserum, Fonterra, Land O’Lakes, Murray Goulburn, and Molkerei Ammerland make up the growing list of sellers on GDT.
