Newamstar turns to ZW3D to design packaging and blow molding machines for liquid bottles
The Chinese company manufactures medium-temperature canning and aseptic cold filling technologies and has three R&D centres in Guangzhou, Wuhan and Florida, US.
High-end liquid (beverage) packaging
Li Gong, CAD engineer, Newamstar, told Dairy Reporter, the firm supplies machines across Europe, Southeast Asia, Middle East, America and Africa for the high-end liquid (beverage) packaging machinery industry.
“ZW3D’s design functionalities are on a par with mainstream 3D CAD software. Its intelligent and user-friendly workflow greatly helps improve modeling efficiency,” he said.
ZWSOFT (formerly Guangzhou Chinaweal Longteng Technology Co.) develops computer-aided design software products for 2D and 3D design use and ZWCAD is a popular 2D/3D CAD tool for the AEC (Architectural, Engineering, Construction), mechanical design, manufacturing, and GIS (Geographic Information Systems) industries.
It includes libraries of standard parts and mechanical tools for design and drafting. It supports ISO, ANSI, DIN, JIS, and GB drafting environments.
Newamstar turned to ZWSOFT because it was looking for a reliable, intelligent and easy-to-use 3D software with comprehensive and customized support.
The 3D CAD/CAM technology is designed for the complete product development process, non-solid mold parting, and smart CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machining tactics from 2 axis to 5 axis.
It has 3D modeling (solid/surface/direct) for flexible design, a full toolset for manufacturing and comes with a ‘built-in Show-n-Tell system’.
ZWCAD 2017
After the order was confirmed, ZW3D sent an on-site training team to Newamstar to teach their engineers how to use the software.
ZWSOFT recently announced ZWCAD 2017 has integrated more features such as Flatten, Advanced Grip Editing and Undo Snapshot, to make editing more flexible and productive.
Flatten creates a 2D representation of objects and projects them onto a screen. By flattening objects, users can get a clearer view of 3D models once a viewpoint is set.
As ZWCAD is a 2D drafting application, not all the files the users receive are exactly 2D after various editing. Sometimes, some accidental Z coordinates get into the drawing and make it difficult to add new geometry or pull accurate distances from existing objects. ZWCAD 2017 can remove all unwanted elements with the Flatten function.
There is also an Advanced Grip mode for users to reshape, move, or manipulate objects in ZWCAD 2017 tailoring their ideas into something they expect.
ZWCAD 2017 allows users to go back to their previous steps, and before they make the decision, they can take a look at what exactly they did in every step, because the history records are presented on snapshots.
