Sanne Melles, director of CSK, said the campus is a perfect location due to the university’s position in the field of innovation in agritech and food.
CSK’s cultures are used globally in millions of kilos of cheese, yogurt and other dairy products.
The company, active on four continents, has a production facility in Leeuwarden, and 200 staff in the Netherlands, Poland and other countries in Europe.
In addition to bacterial cultures, CSK supplies rennet, cheese coating and other ingredients.
The new facility opened November 30, 2017, with open sessions on the theme of 'taste', which Melles said will be a part of the company’s work in the coming years.
“Taste will build bridges between products and markets,” Melles said.
“Taste will make the connection between consumers and strong dairy brands. And for us the Wageningen campus is the place where it will happen."
