The company said this is equivalent to a growth rate of more than 65% within one year. It said the growth strengthens its position as the largest milk producer in Russia.
Stefan Dürr, main shareholder and managing Director of Ekosem-Agrar said the positive market environment, including government investment grants, low-interest bank loans and good milk prices, contributed to the achievement.
“In 2018, we will continue to increase efficiency in milk production and focus on developing our own dairy processing,” Dürr said.
“Provided that the situation remains favorable, we will continue investing in new dairy operations. Assuming attractive takeover opportunities, further acquisitions may be considered.”
Largest milk producer in Russia
Ekoniva Group is one of the largest Russian agricultural companies, with more than 42,000 dairy cows. It is the largest milk producer in the country.
The corporate group has about 5,000 employees at eight locations in six regions in Russia and achieved a total output of €149.2m ($179.3m) and an EBIT of €31.9m ($38.3m) in 2016.
