Speaking to FoodNavigator-USA at the Specialty Food Association’s Winter Fancy Food Show, Amit Pandhi said: “People aren’t really eating ice cream to get their protein.
"A lot of what it’s doing [the protein in some rival frozen dessert brands] is making the products more chalky and harder to consume. Americans are eating too much protein already, whereas we wanted to really deliver on taste and indulgence.
“Indulgence is such a part of self-care now, it’s a treat, [it’s about] I deserve this!”
