Besides standard analyses such as microbiology and analytical testing methods, Laemme contributes specialist knowledge in the field of histology to the Tentamus’ group of laboratories.
Dr Jochen Zoller, CEO of Tentamus Group, said the Laemme laboratory will contribute its services of the analytical competence in foodstuff of animal origin not only to Italian customers, but also to other Tentamus customers.
Luisa Marini, CEO of Laemmegroup, will stay in the company and support further growth.
She said, “I am 70 years old, and, after a life dedicated to my company, I have decided to give it continuity by becoming part of an international group able to guarantee further development and growth.
“I believe that, our knowledge in animal productions along all the supply chain, starting from the farms, passing through the feed factories and arriving at food industries as well as the retailers, could be useful for new projects and opportunities with other members of Tentamus Group.”
Existing facilities
The three existing locations of the Tentamus Group in Italy, in Ravenna and Sicily with focus on food, and Bologna, with a focus on agrochemicals, together with the Laemmegroup sites in Turin and Moretta (northwest Italy) form a network across the Italian region and combine the various branches of the industry.
Laemme’s laboratory, accredited since 1998, has two offices, the main one in Moncalieri, with a secondary facility in Moretta, dedicated to all tests on raw milk and dairy products.
In Moncalieri, Laemmegroup has four departments: chemical, microbiological, molecular biology and bovine histology, which perform analysis for food safety, quality and authenticity.
The chemical laboratory specializes in the determination of residues of veterinary drugs and contaminants.
