New Zealand dairy company Synlait Milk Limited has sought to clarify its arrangements with Tetra Pak and Ebert Construction Ltd in the delivery of two capital projects at Synlait Pokeno and Synlait Dunsandel, following the announcement that Ebert Construction Ltd has been placed in receivership.

The construction company was contracted by Tetra Pak to construct the building works for Synlait Pokeno, which is Synlait’s second nutritional powder manufacturing site, due to be commissioned for the 2019/2020 season; and the advanced liquid dairy packaging facility at Synlait Dunsandel, due to be commissioned early 2019.

Synlait said Tetra Pak is contracted by Synlait to deliver both projects, it remains confident in the relationship with Tetra Pak.

The company also announced this week that fellow New Zealand dairy firm The a2 Milk Company has increased its shareholding of ordinary shares in Synlait Milk Limited.

a2MC has increased its shareholding in ordinary shares of Synlait from 9.11% to 17.39%.

The increased investment from a2MC reflects an increasingly close relationship and long-term commitment from both organizations to the continued growth and success of their partnership.
