Ecolean has acquired 30,000m² of land in Landskrona, Sweden, to open a production facility in 2020, creating 100 jobs.

The plant will be located 20km south of Helsingborg, where the company’s HQ’s is based, including one production facility.

It also has a production plant in China and a facility under construction in Pakistan, expected to start operations in 2019.

Peter Nilsson, CEO, Ecolean Group, said the announcement is part of the company’s ambitious growth strategy.

He added the increase in capacity is needed to meet the liquid food industry’s demands for Ecolean’s lightweight packaging and as part of the agreement, an additional 30,900m² can be obtained, when needed in the future.

"As part of our ongoing expansion strategy, this investment of €25-30m will enable us to continue being a fast growing and rapidly expanding company," said Nilsson.

Ecolean lightweight packages are made of as little raw material as possible, providing a low environmental impact throughout the packages’ life cycle.”

Ecolean currently supplies approximately 30 countries and has 11 global sales offices.
