ECCO-F has specialized in the production of white cheese since 1996, and has since added Bulgarian yogurt to its portfolio.
Based in Karabunar, about 30 minutes from Sofia, the company processes around 30 tons of goat, sheep and cow milk each day into a variety of traditional Bulgarian products that are distributed throughout Bulgaria, as well as exported to other European countries, the US, Australia, the Middle East and Russia.
The new Zerolact line includes three variants – from cow, goat and sheep milk – which are all lactose free white cheeses in brine.
The company said the new products are high in free amino-acids, calcium and vitamin D.
ECCO-F’s commercial director, Boris Borisov, spoke with DairyReporter at the event about the new products, the direction of the company, and why Bulgarian yogurt is so healthy.
