Held every two years, the show attracts exhibitors from around the world, as well as thousands of visitors looking to discover the latest trends in food ingredients.
To emphasize its importance, many of the biggest ingredients companies from Europe are in attendance, and this also applies to dairy companies that have ingredients divisions.
At HiE, DairyReporter talked to several of these big players: Beneo, Kerry Group, Glanbia, Carbery, Arla Food Ingredients, epi Ingredients, Hoogwegt, and NZMP.
While these are likely familiar names to most, there were other, smaller, companies from around the world with some interesting stories to tell, and we also interviewed companies such as HempOil Canada, Pingjingshan Jinjing Biological Technology, from China, and Daywell, a South Korean company.
Those video interviews will be rolling out on DairyReporter in the coming weeks, however, we chose four of them to feature in our HiE post-event podcast.
Featured companies
NZMP is the ingredients division of New Zealand dairy cooperative Fonterra, and it has a big presence in Europe, which is partly why they were at the event. We spoke with Hans Huistra, NZMP EMEA Regional Director.
Another dairy company we spoke with is Ireland’s Kerry Group, and Dr Laura Collins told us about the company’s presence at the event.
Danish company Arla Foods Ingredients is another of the big hitters at HiE, and Inge Lise Povlsen, senior category manager, told us about the products being promoted at the event.
And also in today’s podcast is an interview with Katrien Lambeens, product manager at Belgian-based global ingredients company Beneo.
The podcast also includes a weekly update on the dairy markets with INTL FCStone’s Liam Fenton.
