The sale is motivated by the company’s strategic focus on its Baby Care and Dairy Ingredients divisions and will go ahead on December 30, 2020.
Marbacher Ölmühle produces a variety of flours, including apricot kernel, hemp seed, linseed, peanut, pumpkin and sunflower seed; and organic oils such as almond, rapeseed, safflower, hemp, sesame and sunflower.
Hochdorf Holding Ltd acquired Marbacher Ölmühle in December 2014 as part of its move to strengthen its VIOGERM wheat germ business internationally. However, with the discontinuation of the Cereals & Ingredients division, the company lost strategic importance for the Hochdorf Group.
The sale of Marbacher Ölmühle completes the streamlining of the Hochdorf Group portfolio of companies as part of its strategic realignment.
Hochdorf said it will now focus entirely on its Baby Care and Dairy Ingredients divisions from the beginning of 2021.
“We are proud to have found a strategic investor who can positively influence the further development of Marbacher Ölmühle GmbH,” said Dr Peter Pfeilschifter, Hochdorf Group CEO.
The Hochdorf Group achieved a consolidated net sales revenue of CHF 158.3m ($177.8m) in the first half of 2020.
