Through the €500m deal, Lactalis increases its access to the Dutch cheese market.
The purchase will allow the Lactalis Group to establish itself at an industrial level in the Netherlands, where until now it only operated commercially, since Bel has three factories in the area, and it will also boost its activity in Italy, Germany and Ukraine.
The acquisition means Lactalis takes on almost 1,000 workers and 2,000 milk producers.
Lactalis said the acquisition is aligned with its strategic priorities, which include supporting the development of quality and reputable local products, introducing them to high-growth regions, and boosting its portfolio of innovations.
