Murray's Cheese was one of just three US cheesemakers who picked up Super Gold medals at this year's World Cheese Awards.
Now, the company's Cave Aged La Mancha is back for the holidays, if for a limited time only. "Our raw milk take on Manchego starts with wheels from the La Mancha region of Spain. We rub them in olive oil and age them in our caves, where they develop a sweet richness and notes of berry and butter," says Murray's.

Canadian vegan cheesemaker Nuts For Cheese uses cashew milk and quinoa-based rejuvelac, a fermented liquid, to craft its cultured vegan cheese. The company's range, which includes plant-based alternatives to cheddar and brie among others, is available through various retailers nationwide in the US and Canada.
We spotlight the Un-Brie-Lievable organic and dairy-free product, which has a cashew and coconut oil base and also contains 'chickpea miso' - a mix of rice ,chickpeas, sea salt, water and koji spores - as well as oregano extract and raw cane sugar. The cheese alternative is also certified organic.

While this isn't a new cheese per se - the first batch having landed back in 2017 - Rogue Creamery has put out a 2022 edition of its award-winning Rogue River Blue - and the cheesemaker has gone the extra mile to spice up this year's seasonal offering. The Creamery is selling a limited-edition box of cheese from three vintages - including the 2019 World Champion - to allow cheese lovers to sample each one side by side.
Available directly from the Rogue Creamery online store, the box also comes with pear and peppercorn preserves, roasted hazelnus, oatcakes, and a tasting booklet.

To mark the holidays, the California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB) introduced a collaboration with cheese shop Lady & Larder and cheese specialist Jessica Lawrenz to present the California Cheese Wreath Kit, a collection of Real California cheeses, dried fruit, nuts, crackers, and other items used to create an edible arrangement for seasonal gatherings and gift giving.
"In the spirit of giving, for each kit ordered a donation of US$20 will be made to Feeding America in support of families in need," says CMAB.
The California Cheese Wreath kit features three cow's milk specialty cheeses made with Real California Milk from the state's farm families, California almonds, dried citrus wheels, raisins, cherries, crackers, and dried herbs along with a round bamboo cheese board as well as instructions for assembling a festive cheese wreath. The wreath is available for pickup at Lady & Larder in Santa Monica, or online.
