ADM is poised to acquire dairy flavor firm Revela Foods while Doehler has acquired Serbian frozen fruits specialist Frikos.

Wisconsin-based Revela Foods, a portfolio company of New Heritage Capital since 2019, leverages its enzyme technology to create dairy flavor formulations for a variety of applications, from snacks and frozen meals to sauces, dressings, soups, seasoning and desserts. ADM intends to complete early in 2024, subject to closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

Calvin McEvoy, ADM’s president of global flavors, explained the acquisition will bring Revela Foods’ technology and innovation together with ADM’s global capabilities ‘to power our unparalleled range of ingredients and complete solutions for customers who are looking for great flavors and clean labels’. “Revela has built a strong business around its unique range of dairy flavor ingredients and solutions for customers spanning major brands, retailers and food service,” he added. “ADM has a strong presence in the North America savory flavors segment, and we’re excited to work with the impressive Revela team to expand our opportunities there.”

Revela CEO Terry Schneider said that joining ADM would allow his company ‘to offer even broader solutions to our customers and will provide our employees with even greater opportunities for advancement’.

In other news, Doehler has acquired Serbia-based freeze-dried and frozen fruits supplier Frikos. The deal means that Doehler customers worldwide, especially in North America and Europe, will now benefit from a broader range of premium quality freeze-dried berries and a strengthened supply chain.

The partnership will enable Doehler to leverage Frikos’ technology and expertise in the production of organic raspberries, while Frikos will have access to all of Doehler’s technologies and application labs.
