Bel Brands USA has debuted Boursin Rosemary & Black Garlic, a new limited-edition flavor of its cream cheese range.
The company said it found ‘significant demand’ for black garlic-flavored options, with 59% of shoppers stating they would buy black garlic as an incremental purchase.
Black garlic is aged fresh garlic that’s been stored at high temperature (between 60°C-90°C) and humidity (70-90%) conditions for several weeks. Research has shown that black garlic has higher antioxidant activity compared to fresh garlic as well as anti-cancer, ani-obesity and anti-inflammatory properties.
According to Bel Brands USA, black garlic is one of the trendy flavors in the food industry right now, with 30% of restaurants featuring the flavor on their menus. Boursin Rosemary & Black Garlic targets home chefs and hosts and is suitable for complementing everyday meals as well as charcuterie boards.
