Danone launches Neocate in India

Danone India has launched its global infant formula brand Neocate in India.

The product is a hypoallergenic, amino acid-based formula (AAF) intended for use in dietary management of cow’s milk allergy, the most common food allergy in infants and young children globally.

Cow’s milk allergy is a result of one or more cow’s milk proteins triggering an adverse reaction by the body’s immune system. Managing cow’s milk allergy involves removal of cow’s milk and dairy products from the diet.

Commenting on the launch of Neocate in India, Pierre Andre Terisse, executive vice president, Africa and India said Neocate can cater to the special needs of infants with cow’s milk allergy to help them lead a normal healthy life.

Available online and in stores

Rodrigo Lima, managing director, Danone India said the launch is a step towards the company’s ambition for India.

He said Neocate will help to address the growing challenges of healthcare professionals and parents, “making everyday life little easier for families.”

Neocate will be retailed on Amazon.in and will also be available at pharmacies in select Indian cities including Lucknow, Varanasi, Delhi NCR, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vizag, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Cochin and Madurai.
