Calcium-fortified foods - the risks

Studies presented at the annual Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy, sponsored by the American Society for Microbiology, suggest that calcium-fortified foods may hinder the effectiveness of antibiotics.

Despite the concern that it can cause TCA - the mouldy smell attributed to bad wine - natural cork is the preferred closure for most US winemakers, according to a survey carried out on behalf of the Amorim cork group.
