Dairy Food Safety Alliance formed in Wisconsin

The Center for Dairy Research (CDR), the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin (DFW) and the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) have come together to form the Dairy Food Safety Alliance to serve the Wisconsin dairy industry.

Arla foresees post-Brexit dairy problems for UK consumers

European dairy cooperative Arla Foods says Brexit could leave UK consumers with less choice and higher prices, turning everyday staples, like butter, yogurts, cheese and infant formula, into occasional luxuries, and making speciality cheeses ‘very scarce.’

The new plant will start production in 2020 and have an annual capacity of 45,000 tons of mozzarella.

Glanbia Cheese Limited, the Joint Venture business between Irish-based nutrition company Glanbia plc and US dairy company Leprino Foods company, plans to build a new mozzarella cheese manufacturing facility in Portlaoise, Co Laois, Ireland.

The transaction gives Arla Foods the rights to use the Yeo Valley brand in the UK for milk, butter, spreads and cheese under an intellectual property license with Yeo Valley.
